Roanoke, VA – March 14, 2024 –Veracity is pleased to announce El Segundo Unified School District (ESUSD) has selected Veracity’s Technology Management SystemTM (TMS) to enhance operational efficiency and collaboration between the technology, instruction, and business departments.
ESUSD, home to 3,500 students, is known for its award-winning schools, exceptional ratings, and top-quality staff. ESUSD’s strategy, systems, and processes are designed and governed with no less expectation. EdTech Executive Director Daniel Gauna took special interest in Veracity’s TMS and how it might lend itself to the team’s expectations and initiatives for the 2023-2024 school year, including further building the capacity of personnel, promoting parental and community involvement, and demonstrating fiscal responsibility.
“Veracity’s Technology Management System will not only help us maintain effective communication and cohesive knowledge around technology with our staff, students, and community, but also enable transparency in edtech spend and goal alignment across the leadership team,” explained Gauna.
With Superintendent Dr. Melissa Moore’s support, Gauna introduced Veracity’s TMS to the Board and Chief Business Officer Kimberlie Linz. Linz, named 2023 State Business Official of the Year by The Association of California School Administrators, agreed a centralized system for edtech management, communication, and spend should be the next step in innovation at ESUSD.
“Danny and I had just discussed a missed contract that resulted in an unintended renewal, followed by two or three others found shortly after. Although we were able to recover these funds, the process was tedious and time-consuming. It was clear that we needed a single source of truth for managing this process moving forward,” added Linz.
Veracity’s TMS will help ESUSD track edtech contracts and spend across each school, enabling visibility at the district level while supporting site-based purchasing decisions. This centralized system, accessible by all stakeholders, will minimize waste and the risk associated with unmonitored contracts and renewals.
“After hearing the stories of missed contracts due to staff turnover, we were eager to work with Danny and team to keep this unwanted expenditure from happening in the future. Veracity will enable the El Segundo team to overcome the challenges faced in the past and never miss a renewal again,” concluded Amy Robertson, Veracity’s Chief Revenue Officer.
