Roanoke, VA – January 21, 2025 –Hudson Independent School District (HISD) selected Veracity’s Technology Management SystemTM (TMS) in July 2024 to bring simplicity and efficiency to its edtech purchasing process and has made great progress this school year.
Fairly new to her position, April Lopez (Director of Curriculum & Instruction), chose to move forward with Veracity’s TMS as she had been working closely with her technology colleagues to implement improved tracking of digital assets and streamlined processes for edtech purchasing. According to Lopez, reliance on spreadsheets for inventory and Google Forms for purchase requests had resulted in complexities, breakdowns, and lack of insight into renewals. First on Lopez’s priority list was implementing an edtech catalog for all staff, which she accomplished (and more) in the first half of the school year.
“The staff is excited about using the program and grateful to have everything in one location,” shared Lopez. “The experience has been seamless. As an administrator, the program is user friendly and simple to use,” added Lopez.
“We are in the process of setting up the vetting system so our staff can request programs,” continued Lopez. At current pace, the HISD team could see automated workflows released in the coming weeks, allowing ample time to communicate and train staff for full implementation before the ’25-’26 school year.
Next on the priority list is ensuring all contracts are entered so Lopez can “see the ins and outs of all invoices.” When asked about the Veracity team and what she would share with other Texas school districts (and beyond), Lopez concluded “The company is easy to work with and always willing to help in any way possible.”
