Roanoke, VA – April 1, 2025 –Veracity is pleased to announce Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) has selected Veracity’s Technology Management SystemTM (TMS) to support initiatives driving convergence, as a unified school system with shared accountability for school and division goals. The second largest district in the state of Virginia, and 34th nationally, PWCS is home to nearly 90,000 students and more than 12,000 employees.
Organizational coherence – as defined by PWCS’s Vision 2025 – “represents the conscious commitment to align the entire School Division as one team, united in a singular commitment to support all schools, students, and families.” The strategic plan calls for: systemic structures for strong cycles of continuous improvement; removing communication barriers to facilitate collaboration across offices, schools, and families; ensuring strategic priorities are driving investments; and shared accountability for school and division goals.
AJ Phillips, PWCS Director of Information and Instructional Technology, set her sights on a centralized system that could enable the union of this size district and community, starting with transparency into educational technologies (edtech) and spending, and opportunities for efficiency. Phillips knew disparate spreadsheets, forms, and folders wouldn’t suffice for the future vision of the Division. Introduction to Veracity’s Technology Management System set Phillips’ sights on a purpose-built solution that would replace broken processes and disjointed data.
“Historically, we’ve used spreadsheets and Microsoft tools (Forms, Teams, etc.) that were freely available but not purpose built for the level of collaboration we truly need. We tried to implement consistent technology approval processes but found it burdensome without automation,” explained Phillips.
“I’m excited for the future with Veracity. If we are organized for success, with integrated processes and platforms, and have clear operational roles and responsibilities, then we will enable greater focus on instructional delivery for students,” Phillips added.
“The future of managing edtech (and the billions of dollars spent globally each year) is in centralization, automation, and AI. Adaptation and innovation in K-12 and Higher Ed just aren’t possible with systems built 40 years ago,” concluded Veracity CRO Amy Robertson Dornton.
